This project involved a group of 18 children from Years 4 -7 who were selected by their teachers as deserving of extension. Over the course of 10 weeks they spent an afternoon a week to produce a short animated story.

In teams of 6 the children undertook team building exercises before being presented with their task. Each team’s task was to select a character from history whom they researched and wrote a report about. They then selected a location unfamiliar to their character which they also researched. Then each team used a storyboard to map out a 3 scene story involving their character meeting Bill, a young thief, in this location. Each group made models of their main characters in Plasticine , photographed and then modified them in 'Photoshop'.

In pairs they then wrote a script for their selected scene that would tell their part of the story in 1 minute. Using 'Garageband' they turned their scripts into podcasts before using 'Photoshop' & 'Flash' to create their final animation.

N.B. Each file is realitivly large so if you have a slower internet connection have a cuppa while it loads.

I enjoyed their creativity and dedication and hope you enjoy their work. Vic Luck
